We’re thrilled to showcase the Salcombe Community Gospel Choir - who just love to sing!

The choir isn’t new – it was started in 2008 by Fran French with a handful of people in Salcombe Vicarage. Over the years it has evolved in different forms; from a more raw gospel sound through ecclesiastical, classical, and popular to find its place now as a recognised gospel choir. In 2021 the choir came under the leadership of Steve Dawe, who with 20 years’ experience with other Gospel choirs, has raised the performance of this community choir to a level where they give a highly polished performance. Their songs can be enjoyed and interpreted by everyone regardless of faith, belief and age. The songs range from moving and hopeful, through to loud, lively and happy! The music can be enjoyed at different levels – for the joy of its sound, for its inclusion or for just the emotional ride. It is a good reminder of why and how gospel music started, to lift the spirits of the audience. Get ready to tap your feet and enjoy the singing!

SCGC have over 50 members to draw from and have a fantastic range of gospel songs to choose from. Based in Holy Trinity Church, Salcombe the choir has performed at concerts locally and events as far as Tiverton, Falmouth, and Plymouth. Our 20 year old sister choir based in Callington, Cornwall join them for their very big shows.

£2.50 of each ticket bought for this event, and a portion of money raised across the weekend will be donated to the RNLI, our chosen charity for the Festival. Thank you for your generosity and kind support of this incredible cause.

Note: All ticket purchases are final. No refunds are available. Thank you again for your support of our chosen Charity and supporting our annual music festival.
