The Lost Sound (Dartmoor Folk Choir) - Saturday October 7th 2023 (5.00pm)

Called ‘A compelling and powerful folk choir’ by Sidmouth Folk Festival, The Lost Sound have had a wonderful summer season of sell out concerts around Devon and Cornwall and are delighted to be singing at Salcombe Live Festival for the first time.

Their recent singles have been played on Folk Radio stations across the UK including Blues Roots radio and Mike Norris’ Classic Folk on EFDSS radio.

Their current concert programme has garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback from audiences, who have said; “I was blown away by the quality of the singing,” “The songs were incredibly moving” and a clear, unabashed “Outstanding.”

Their songs are mainly traditional, with brand new, contemporary arrangements, giving an exciting new vigour to these established old tunes. There are also original new folk classics, arranged especially for the choir from Cornish and Devonshire composers Mike O’ Connor and Chris Hoban.

The choir uses all male and all female ensembles, trios, quartets as well as notable solos, alongside the full-hearted magic of the whole choir. With robust harmonies, entwined melodies and multi-layered vocals, it makes for a varied and interesting concert!
